The cure for cancer?

A recent press release documents the total eradication of cancer in a terminally ill patient: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-ma ... r-38891994

Whilst I understand that the treatment has not undergone the studies that would determine its suitability as a general remedy, why wouldn't cancer doctors start offering this to their terminally ill patients immediately?

One reason is usually cost. These immuno therapy drugs are mostly as I understand it very expensive and not every patient will be suitable even for the trial. I guess the general health of the patient (other than the cancer) and the age of the patient are also factors.

Nothing is ever quite as straight forward as it may be reported but someone with a medical background may be able to be more specific.
