Could someone point me out to a good resource about how to calculate CGT when investing monthly sums on a non-tax sheltered account ?

I have just offered HMRC calculations based on disposal proceeds minus the brokers calculation of book cost shown on my account page, with a note to say that both figures include costs of acquisition and disposal. My calculations have always been accepted.
