Family situation means that I will be away from home on May 23rd and thus unable to vote in person.
Is there any (legal) way to vote, or is it a case of "tough luck"...?

You could have applied to vote by proxy but it's too late, it had to be in by May 15th. https://www.yourvotematters.co.uk/how-d ... g-by-proxy
It's also too late to apply for a postal vote.
So I think it's tough luck.
Scott.

Half the population have already voted by postal vote. I did mine over a week ago but still the Parties don't seem to have recognised that they are now to late to have any impact.

I vote by post and spoiled my paper for the first time in my life. I am so disgusted with the lot that I could not do anything else. On the postal vote though, I do not much like it as it removes what always felt like exercising one's democratic right by turning up at a polling station.

Agree. Unfortunately an unforseen situation has occurred which means I'm now going to be away on the 23rd.
Ah well, if there are any non Lib-Dem voters who'd like to pair with my vote, a la Westminster, we could restore a small piece of democracy
