Bitcoin broker

DAK of a bitcoin accoiunt mob that are accepting applications? Some few months ago now I asked on behalf of a chum who has some bitcoin in a wallet that he wants to cash out.

bitstamp and cex were suggested back then, but neither are accepting applications - he's been waiting on bitstamp since mid December at least.

DAK of a bitstamp broker taking new accounts?

The only Bitcoin broker I'm aware of where people have got their money back is CoinBase https://www.coinbase.com/

I have not used it myself but am investigating for my own interest.

Not sure how many £ are needed as a minimum investment, but whatever it is, you must be prepared to lose that money.

I have an account with Coinfloor. But I see they have just updated their terms to require a minimum cash deposit, or cash withdrawal of £10,000 (but only 0.05 in bitcoin which is only a couple of hundred pounds worth.

For clarity - this chum has a couple of grand's worth of bitcoin in a wallet.

He needs a way to extract the bitcoin from his existing wallet.

see previous thread for info etc etc etc

didds,

will89 is the [self-appointed] bitcoin and blockchain expert around here. He says he has a debit card with which he can spend his bitcoin just like any other money:

viewtopic.php?f=78&t=5326&p=100261&hilit=card#p100261
It helps that I have a crypto debit card in my wallet with Bitcoin loaded onto it that I can spend just like I would any other money.

perhaps PM him and ask what to do. Perhaps will 89 would be happy to buy your friend's bitcoin and spend it on his card. Especially as bitcoin is only going up: as soon as he's bought it he's bound to make a profit.

Good luck,

GS

cheers GS - Ive sent will89 a PM.

If he chooses not to answer/doesn't even notice its there it seems my friend is stuck owning bitcoin he just cannot access.

Meanwhile as a feeler OI contacted my bank [FD]... if the wallet was mine I could trasnfer the funds directly to me bank account! I asked how that cold be arranged - FD said i'd have to "ask bitcoin". Is there really a central "bitcoin bank/orgainsation" ? They wouldn;t own the wallet after all!

Even if you can find a way to cash out with low amounts, the broker commissions that I've seen bandied about are ridiculous, probably 'justified' by the volatility/spread...
