Not enough space on a boat for my accumulated 'stuff'
It does appeal, but I think one has to be very tidy and disciplined for it to work. My sis knows some boat dwellers, but they also have a house for winter and storage!!
If I could choose the life I pleased
Then I would be a boatman

Re: My eviction, ongoing saga
My brother is a boatee. His nomad non-moored life costs approx £25 a week plus the initial cost of the boat. To get that you have to move ten miles every two weeks.

Tony Reptiles (occasional poster) is the expert on boat life !
I can't see myself sorting out a boat by end September somehow, and don't fancy winter afloat.
There is a big marina at Reading, and the Kennet & Avon runs near work to the south- Kate Bush used to have a house down there but she moved, sadly

When do the students come back? How about putting all your gear in storage and renting a room at a uni hall for a few weeks?
