Newspaper reading stand

#178490

Postby Jonetc15 » November 6th, 2018, 12:09 pm

I have to use a neck brace and mustn't look down to read newspapers etc flat on a table. I've seached for but can't find any stand that will hold the Times, let alone larger broadsheets at the weekend.

I'll be most grateful for any suggestions for something that will hold papers for reading.

TIA

Jon

Have you considered getting your paper on an e-reader? Makes holding and reading it easy (and does the same for other things that are heavy or awkward in their paper form).

I have something like that - though I bought it to hold a laptop. Found it more trouble than it's worth, so it's been a long time since I last used it.

From the same Amazon page: 'The EBRO Artists A3 Workstation Table Ease', £24.50

Looks nifty to me. Could that not do the job?

At least for one page at a time...

A3 paper size: 297 x 420mm
British Tabloid/compact: 280 x 430mm

Also, there are entire worktables that can be set up at an angle, I have one bought decades ago from John Lewis.
You could also consider an easel.

How about these: https://www.cassart.co.uk/easel_categor ... wing_easel

Perhaps with a sheet of plywood or hardboard for large newspapers

Including "Workstation A3 Ebro Table Easel, £19.95"

Cheaper!

Slarti’s prompt reply showed that I should have searched for a ‘slope’ and ‘easel’ rather than a ‘stand’. I’m really grateful for this and the various other replies. XFool’s links and two detailed comments suggesting an easel may well solve my problem, which I greatly appreciate.

I hadn’t thought of getting my papers on an e-reader as kindly suggested by UncleEbenezer, because my wife would never read them online... Thanks also to Kiloran for a possible solution too.

Sorry not to have copied this message to each contributor due to my lack of skill, but it is always great to have varied and most helpful replies.

All the very best

Jon
P.S. My thanks also to the moderator who has corrected the spelling in the subject matter of my OP.
