Green Balls in my Plants

I was repotting some shop bought plants and found small bright green balls in the soil. Other plants had yellow balls, and I also found a single blue ball.

Twice the size of cous cous, half the size of petit pois.

Is it plant food, slug repellant, weed killer or something else?

No white ones?

This appears to explain https://homeguides.sfgate.com/white-bal ... 73335.html

These balls are actually tiny pieces of perlite, which is a naturally occurring material that is beneficial in several ways to your plant.

Slow release fertiliser pellets.

Same as in 'Miracle Grow' compost.

LOL, that one gets everybody worried the first time they see it. Yes, I had the same experience a couple of years ago.

From the title I thought it was a variant on 'Green Fingers'.

Perhaps an affliction of naturist gardeners?

:)

Thanks everyone.

I'll know next time I'm soiling my plants.
