Cricinfo ahead of TMS
Yesterday - listening to TMS (on radio 5Live Extra) on my Kindle and also reading the ESPN Cricinfo commentary on the same Kindle, I was struck by the fact that Cricinfo had already described the event before the TMS commentators got to it. Any ideas why and how this happens?

Re: Cricinfo ahead of TMS
R5 Live is only available on DAB, and DAB is not an immediate system. I have a DAB in the bathroom, and if listening on FM in the bedroom, then going into the bathroom, I hear the same bit again.
Next time, try R4 LW as this is in real time.
The same works with HD TV. Listening to a match in the kitchen on AM, I can be in the lounge quick enough to see the goal or try on HD TV !!

Re: Cricinfo ahead of TMS
Apropos of DAB and FM radio , I like to Classic FM on the DAB with the analogue FM opposite , which gives a wonderful acoustic similar to being in a Piazza . Unfortunately, they each have different adverts so the result is cacophonous gibberish.

Re: Cricinfo ahead of TMS
I find DAB has no more than about a second's delay from FM, but internet radio is 30 seconds or more behind.
(Obviously this is dependent on internet speed, app or feed used etc.)
Scott.

"Five Live" is transmitted on AM, DAB, DVB-T, and DVB-S. (It's also available overnight on FM - some BBC local frequencies between 0100 an 0500 ish)
"Five Live Sports Extra" is transmitted on DAB, DVB-T, and DVB-S.

Apologies, I missed out the word "Extra" after R5 Live - quite important in the context. Sorry for any confusion.
