Alma Cogan's last album.

Hi all... my mum is seeking Alma Cogan's "last album" ... she descibes it as having quite growly vocals. Id like to get it for Mother's Day for her, but its proving difficult for me, and her poor memory/lack of actual album knowledge to pin down what AC's _last" album was. AC died in Octover 1966 so it could be either of these albums

https://www.discogs.com/Alma-Cogan-Alma ... ter/683735 - 1965 release
https://rateyourmusic.com/release/album ... ogan/alma/ - 1967 release.

Obvs the last one there was released after her death, but that doesnt necessarily mean it isn't her _last" album etc.

The noral googling hasnt helped either - the wiki 9for example) discography doesnt even list the 1965 album!

DAK which is AC;s real actual last album?

(It seems copies amy be availbale of either of those two options so Im not too concerned yet at getting hold of them. Worst case scenario I'll get mum both! A ,ocal "record dealer expert" is allegedly looking for mum but on the basis he's got nowhere in months with any news/etc and i ascertained the above in thirty minutes I think he's wasting her time)

If your mum could remember a particular song that could help decide which it is
- there are some Alma Cogan tracks on Spotify that might help jog the memory?

The Allmusic website is quite good for this sort of thing.

I wouldn't profess to be an expert on Alma Cogan, but, of the two possible candidates (How About Love, released in 1962 and Alma, released posthumously in 1967), the two descriptions suggest pretty strongly that you're looking for the latter.

Good luck !

thanks Chris - but how did you see those albums on that page? when I look here (following the link under/with her name on one of the links you provided)

https://www.allmusic.com/artist/alma-co ... iscography

it only goes back to 1995, almost 30 years after her death?

I'd seen that site in my searching but gave uip on it as clearly didn't display the albums in the 1960s and seemed fixated on what I presume are compilation albums?
