Is anyone able to point me to a site where I can find an understandable explanation about the new VED car tax? My brain is on the point of turning to mush.

No.

There are sites, but I don't actually think there is an understandable explanation any more unless you know exactly which standards your vehicle was tested under for emissions so you can work out which table applies, and how much the new list price was, and whether that included options :(

Basically, if you weren't a scriptwriter for "Yes Minister" then forget it.

Thank you Red Sturgeon, I think I've managed to navigate my way around the site OK and it seems reasonable (!!!) straighforward. Dr. Ffybes, thank you for making me chuckle, I know exactly what you mean, some of the sites appear to have been written by a computer with access to the complete works of Shakespeare and Andy Pandy.
