I need to deliver a consignment of about a dozen boxes each weighing about 15kg and approx 30x30x25cm from the South of England to North of Manchester.

DAK of a reliable service that will pick up this consignment and drop off. A 48 hours service is fine.

www.interparcel.com gives access to most of the main carriers at competitive prices. No connection other than as a very happy and long term customer.

Parcel Force may not be the cheapest but I have found them utterly reliable and often their forty eight hour service delivers the next day.

With 48 hours I assume you are looking at the bulk deliverers rather than a dedicated van?

Personally, I've always found ALL the commercial parcels services to be completely reliable as regards deliveries. Any differences between them usually relate to the ease or difficulties of paying them.

I've taken to using parcels2go for comparing services for eBay. For such a large consignment it is probably worth ringing around the usual suspects DHL, USP, DPD, FedEx...

If using parcels2go, do read the Ts&Cs. Depending on the contents of the parcel, you may or may not have insurance for damage, loss etc. even if you've paid for it. Each courier they quote for will have its own specific terms and exclusions.

and...

Having used them quite a few times, I'm now a Dab hand at this, but try to avoid COD options.

Can we avoid going too far with the fishy puns please, or salmon will get cross. :) Seriously though, it's not really on-topic for DAK... (chas49) >>--->>O )
