It may be that the penny has just dropped that they have not mentioned it earlier. Alternatively someone gave them a heads up that the due date had been decided and will be announced.

With the same spelling mistake? Mine is from HSDL. It will be interesting to see how fast the deal happens and how soon a timetable is announced. If we get an RNS with all the details we'll know it wasn't just Halifax catching up on old news.

Mine are with IWeb and I had exactly the same message yesterday, which was the first I had heard of it. Will we end up with fewer GSK shares? Come to think of it, I also have a certificated holding and have heard nothing about this from the registrars.

Iweb being in the same stable as HSDL and Lloyds Stockbrokers. Presumably yours also included Share holders will recieve in the narrative.

I've received nothing recent from A J Bell (youinvest) for my SIPP and neither would I expect it. The relevant part of the Corporate Action you've all received appears to be on the Ex-entitlement Date, which is yet to be determined.

The partial details of what is to happen remains here https://www.investegate.co.uk/glaxosmit ... 00039434K/. I haven't studied it but imagine you'll continue with the same number of shares in GSK but they will be worth less as, at a date to be established, you'll then have a holding GSK Consumer Healthcare to compensate, if it all goes to plan.

What we do know, as TJH has pointed out, the AGM approved the first stage of the process which was:

To approve the transaction between GlaxoSmithKline plc, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Holdings Limited and Pfizer, Inc for the purposes of Chapter 11 of the Listing Rules of the Financial Conduct Authority

Chapter 11 concerns Premium Listings but I'm not going to delve deeper, as my holding is small, but the General Meeting Notice is on page 45 here:

Looks like Halifax have made a booboo!
On 15th July 2019 we sent a communication regarding an announcement by GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and Pfizer. Our communication contained some incorrect information, please disregard and accept our sincere apologies. We have enclosed the correct information within the communication below. Please note, the information detailed below comes directly from GlaxoSmithKline - for more information, please refer to www.gsk.com.
Important Information & Other Key Dates:
On 19th December 2018, GSK announced a major transaction with Pfizer to combine their respective consumer healthcare businesses into a new Consumer Healthcare Joint Venture (CHJV).

Under the terms of the transaction GSK will have a majority controlling equity interest of 68 percent in the CHJV and Pfizer will have an equity interest of 32 percent.

So there is as yet no timetable or plan for hiving off the JV.

In HYP Land boring is good no? I hold these alongside Astrazeneca, with a weighting towards the higher yielding GSK. I topped the later up a year ago and have a ‘full’ holding.

I guess so but it would be good to see the dividend move up a bit.

I do agree with you Dod. I've enough shares flying in a holding pattern dividend wise as it is already. Either way, I have no intention of selling my GSK holdings.

GSK grants exclusive technology license for clinical-stage Ebola vaccines to Sabin Vaccine Institute

Transfer from GSK and partnership with NIAID will enable Sabin to advance development of the candidate vaccines

GSK and the Sabin Vaccine Institute (Sabin) today announced exclusive agreements for Sabin to advance the development of the prophylactic candidate vaccines against the deadly Ebola Zaire, Ebola Sudan and the closely related, but lesser known, Marburg virus. No licensed vaccines against these three viruses are currently available. All three cause hemorrhagic fever with subsequent death in an average of 50 percent of cases.[1],[2] More than 1,600 people have already died during the ongoing Ebola Zaire outbreak in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC),[3] leading the World Health Organization (WHO) to recently declare it a Public Health Emergency of International Concern.[4]

ViiV results positive for every 2 month injection

ViiV Healthcare, the global specialist HIV company majority owned by GSK, with Pfizer Inc. and Shionogi Limited as shareholders, today announced positive headline results from its global phase III ATLAS-2M study of the investigational, long-acting, injectable, 2-drug regimen (2DR) of ViiV Healthcare's cabotegravir and Janssen's rilpivirine for the treatment of HIV. The study was designed to demonstrate the non-inferior antiviral activity and safety of long-acting cabotegravir and rilpivirine administered every eight weeks (two months) compared to every four weeks (monthly) over a 48-week treatment period in adults living with HIV-1 infection whose viral load is suppressed and who are not resistant to cabotegravir or rilpivirine.

Publication of AGM Notice

The Company will shortly publish on its website ( http://www.gsk.com/en-gb/investors/shar ... l-meeting/ ) the Notice of Annual General Meeting 2020 (the '2020 AGM Notice') which will be distributed to shareholders shortly.

The Company's Annual General Meeting ('AGM') is to be held on Wednesday 6 May 2020 at 2.30pm at the Sofitel London Heathrow, Terminal 5, London Heathrow Airport, TW6 2GD .

The evolving COVID-19 situation and the related Government guidelines will clearly impact the ability of shareholders to attend our AGM. In normal circumstances, the Board values greatly the opportunity to meet shareholders in person. However, it supports fully the recent Government advice for people to avoid both mass gatherings and all non-essential travel and social contact and notes that some or all of the recommendations contained in the Government's guidelines could become mandatory at any time. On this basis, the Board has concluded that it is appropriate to strongly urge shareholders not to attend the AGM in person this year as to do so would be inconsistent with current Government guidelines relative to COVID-19 and, instead, to submit proxy votes. These Government guidelines can be found at http://www.gov.uk/coronavirus .
