Revenue up but profit after tax slightly down, which isn’t an ideal combination.

Net debt up 10%

Nothing much to worry about in my view and the price reverse just gets us back to the price last month. They were on the periphery of my top up list before today, so might get a top up soon

If I've done my arithmetic correctly this means a return of capital of about $0.75 pers share. The sale is due to complete in q4 2019.

How is a return of capital treated for tax purposes? (I should know but have forgotten). Will there be a Capital Gain from this? (Planning my CGT management).

Best wishes,

Steve

It depends how they structure it.

Their choices are a return of capital which counts for CGT as being treated as a part disposal or a special dividend which counts against the £ 2000 allowance.

It used to be possible to allow the holder to make a choice, but that was outlawed a while back when Osborne was Chancellor. It may still be legal to offer a scheme with a deferred gain, one where the holder can elect to make the disposal in the 2020-21 tax year.

Details of the Ontic disposal and the return to shareholders.

$0.8071 per share payable 13-Dec as a special dividend. Consolidation of 5 for 4.

The remains company will be renamed Signature Aviation.

About what I was expecting. Not yet sure whether I’ll remain a shareholder of Signature Aviation.

As you said back in November 2019 when the change of name was confirmed.

Will report this post to see how TLF deal with names changes.

Should the Subject heading be changed to Signature Aviation (SIG) or Signature Aviation (SIG) fka BBA Aviation (BBA)?

or

Open a new listing (as for Investegate)?

If the latter should your posts post 22 November 2019 be moved there (maybe with a link)?

Damn, sold my holding in September. Got bored with it after a few years of it not doing too much.

Only 1,000 shares but I hate missing out on a bidding war.

From Reuters: “Signature Aviation jumped 6% after Global Infrastructure Partners, the co-owner of London’s Gatwick Airport, said that it reached an agreement to buy the company for about $4.63 billion, trumping an approach from Blackstone Group.”
