After the larger than expected drop in SP after going Ex-Divi in the week I decided it was a reasonable entry point.

A bid from Hong Kong today sees the SP going All over the place until it settles.

Not surprisingly the bid was turned down out of hand.

Microsoft have entered a 10 year contract with LSE and also taken a 4% stake.

Some of what they will be doing

"The agreement will see the American software behemoth buy 4 percent equity of LSEG itself from the Blackstone/Thomson Reuters Consortium as well as sorting the bourse's tech migration in the name of "a digital transformation approach underpinned by modern cloud and AI technology."

"Welcome to Excel
"The initial focus will be on delivering interoperability between LSEG Workspace and Microsoft Teams, Excel and PowerPoint with other Microsoft applications and a new version of LSEG's Workspace," Redmond said, confirming that Excel integration would be a part of this, and that City workers on LSEG's Workspace would henceforth be collaborating using Microsoft Teams.

"Customers will be able to create financial models, run data analytics and visualizations using LSEG content delivered in Excel and work seamlessly between LSEG Workspace and Microsoft 365."

Let us hope it all goes seamlessly.
Mike

Just received notification from my broker (iWeb) about now holding LMP shares rather than LXI, following the takeover.

Included in the notice is the following statement:

The LondonMetric shares currently trade on Alternative Investment Market under the ticker code 'LMP'.

Surely this cannot be correct? LMP is a FTSE 250 company not AIM?

LMP has a market cap of nearly £4bn...possibly in line for 'promotion' to the FTSE100...currently near the top of the FTSE 250.
