Wincanton (WIN)
Q3 Trading Update from Wincanton pleasingly ahead of market expectations. Shares trading 10% higher as a result.

It might be thought the growth was solely from the Digital and E-fulfilment sector, but in truth growth is occurring across each of the Group's four core business sectors.
I bought with the pension issue in mind but this has a fine business attached and very pleased with the rise in price over the last few months.

I have held in the past, but not so more recently. It has probably come up too far for me now. Stockopedia have them as in distress and with a negative book value, but it strikes me that is just something odd about working capital or something.
I personally think they are a good business.

Stockopedia also have them as "Super Stock" with a 95/100 ranking.

That's true.
As with all secondary information I tend to check things elsewhere before assuming they are right.

Q4 Trading Update out today
https://www.investegate.co.uk/wincanton ... 00030248U/
"The Group expects to deliver full year profits above market expectations, after taking into account repayment of furlough support."
I can't really improve on that summary! Balance Sheet improved too.
Shares now above 380p

Trading Update
https://www.investegate.co.uk/wincanton ... 00079811N/
Shares are up nicely, but still below recent highs. I haven't looked much closer but I suspect that may be as a result of the recent HGV industry wide issues and a market assumption this is negative for the company.

Q3 Trading Update, and once again the phrase "exceed current market expectations" is rolled out!
https://www.investegate.co.uk/wincanton ... 00080122Z/
The share price is up over 10% today, but there a double digit ROCE and a P/E of just 9. Something is putting people off I guess.
Disc. long.

Re: Wincanton (WIN)
Not having checked my portfolio for over a year I missed this. Taken over (at the second attempt) with a large premium.
