For sure, I doubt anyone will disagree with the personal tragedies those numbers represent.
Odd that >100 of those reflected in that number died in 2020 though. Even stranger 1 died in May 2020!

Agreed yes. Very odd. The report predicts the numbers will increase.

I think this is very typical, there are always delays in reporting for various reasons. It doesn't make the number any less valid though. In the fullness of time, deaths in the 24 hour period not reported yet will be reported, making the number back up again (on average).

I think this is very typical, there are always delays in reporting for various reasons. It doesn't make the number any less valid though. In the fullness of time, deaths in the 24 hour period not reported yet will be reported, making the number back up again (on average).

To be clear I fully understand that point, and wasn't trying to make any clever remarks denying the severity of the pandemic currently.
I was literally commenting on how "odd" it was to have delays, especially of 8 months.

Profuse apologies. I don't think anyone was suggesting or inferring you did. Quite the opposite for me. Like you I thought it was strange that some of the figures related to periods from last year. However, apologies if anything I have said has suggested you dismissed the human side of these numbers.
