much in the news about fines for breaches of lockdown

but I cannot find any information on how many fines given out have actually been paid
big news when given...then silence

are they all waiting 6-9 months to go to magistrates court to receive slap on wrist and let off, when they plead .................

From that article “40% or more of fines were rescinded in three areas by police forces - Merseyside (45%, 236), Staffordshire (47%, 20) and Derbyshire (44%, 111)” it sounds like some police forces either lost control of their officers or the forces had very poor leadership if they were issuing that quantity of fines improperly.

Yes, but any fines issued in tier 4 (which started on Dec 20th I think) won't have become unpaid just yet as you get 28 days to pay.
