<Many thanks but I can't quite see me lugging that on the underground and train and down Regent St. in the rush hour. Bad enough coping with walking stick and handbag. Will only go where there are seats in future.

Translation.... it doesn't include a cup holder for a gin and tonic

Bouleversee - I think the point is that you use it *as* a walking stick, so instead of your current stick, as it folds longways into a stick to lean on, then you can flip it open for a seat whenever you stop.

Re: London Summer Social - 8 June
An engaging evening, for which I thank everyone. Sorry I had to leave early.
I was happy to buy Terry a drink for all his sage advice over the years.
Bouleversee and he cut a dashing and dapper image together, and made me feel under-dressed.
Pink Dalek is a mad dog. (A good thing).
And to the not-to-be-named Lemon who claimed I could not be Lootman because I "seemed too nice", know that I took it as a compliment.

Thanks, both. I'll have a look at it at some point but not planning any more solo trips to London imminently and have a million urgent things to deal with so sufficient unto the day.

He'll be there before you know it but don't you need a Foolish Surgeon to sort the foot/ankle out first or is it beyond repair?

Re: London Summer Social - 8 June
All I was offered by a surgeon here was fusion which didn't appeal, especially as I know several people who have had ankles fused with disastrous consequences. I believe cartilage can be grown in the lab from one's own stem cells and inserted into the joint but as I said earlier it doesn't seem to be on offer here unless one is a racehorse. I heard a sportsman on the Today prog. who had had a back joint sorted in this way abroad but wasn't able to find out who or where.

I'll take "a mad dog" (as defined) as a compliment as well but I think it should be reported that the later conversation was at least 5 pints in.
The earlier, more sober, discussions were when you would not identify yourself by your board name, which is understandable and was entertaining, especially as you knew I was desperately trying to work out who you were. Not even during your fairly lengthy chat with AleisterCrowley did you let slip.
I know, as I asked him, and it was only later that you revealed yourself!

Well, here's to the next one!
As they seem to have settled into a quarterly cycle, September suggests itself- unless someone wants to risk a 'summer sizzler' in August...

Not September for me, I'm afraid. I shall be cruising virtually all the month.

I seem to recall fragrant was used when Manzanilla attended a TMF Social way back, together with tousled or something similar describing the hairstyle. Not by me I hasten to add. I wasn't there.
