Pimlico Plumbers

#146118

Postby didds » June 16th, 2018, 3:46 pm

Following on from the legal case in the week regarding Pimlico Plaumbers and the employment status of their "self employed" wortkers...

DAK how on earth this situation has gon eon for so lomng without it being of interestes to HMRC?

From what I can tell from the descriptions provided surrounding the case, these "self employed" workers seem to fail every IR35 test going... they had no autonomy in what and where and when they worked, they had no substitution rights, they had to wear PP clothing and drive liveried vehicles.

IR35 has been around since 2000! How can HMRC not have been aware for almost two decades? (PP began in 1982 so its business model was well established by the end of the last century)

I'm sure it has got nothing whatsoever to do with the generous political donations made over the years by the owner.

Nobody in HMRC can afford to live in London. They all commute.

This really isn't a DAK is it? I'm moving it to the Taxes board as that's what the original question was about. Please try and stick roughly to that topic :) (chas49)
