I saw this earlier (and the Tweet about Wile E Coyote) and think it's incredible!

That's amazing. Mind you, playing on that would make me feel decidedly seasick.

It's great isn't it. Clearly I'm taking the wrong type of holidays....
Mind you, given the engineering involved, I'm not sure why they can't open it out a little more and create a small, self-levelling platform for the players and the table, so the table wouldn't look to be moving all the time to those taking the shots...
But then, everything else around the platform would still be moving, so they'd really have to have a completely self-levelling pool-room to get over that.
Cheapskates!

RAF 100 - St James Park today, sadly not a brighter day!

Great stuff Mel.
Not sure if it was obvious from your location, although you can see it in the photo you took if you tilt your head, but from a different angle the same flight spelt out the 100 year anniversary celebration -
It must have been a very impressive sight!

Yes, we could tell - you can see it more in my other pictures but, ironically, that one came out best in term of all the planes being in sight and zoom etc.
I've got some good red arrows ones, but, you know, you can just Google those!
This morning I thought 'oh, I'll wander over to the park about quarter to and watch the planes', and somehow it never occurred to me that about 2 million other people would be doing the same thing, so we didn't get quite as far into the park as we would have liked.

Wow, well done, you got the timing spot on; a difficult thing to do with a lowish level fly-past in a built-up area!

Thank you - I'd had quite a bit of practice by the time they came over, pointing the camera at the exact right gap in the trees. It was nice to take on my new phone too - the old one never took a good photo and I thought it was me, but I've only taken a few on this new one and they've all come out nicely, so am looking forward to seeing my favourite band again at Latitude on Friday so I can, at last, take a decent photo of Tim!

Someone keeps nicking your image of the tank traps. They were there when you first posted, then reappeared in both your and Slarti's reply, at some stage, but have now gone again.

Re: The Lemonfool my pic of the day thread
I enjoy cycling, but I'm basically lazy and I don't like slogging up hills, so my perfect cycling is a canal towpath.
I was out for a ride yesterday afternoon along the Leeds Liverpool Canal, near Barnoldswick. I'm sure that the average denizen of the lands south of Watford would expect this to be a journey through a smoky hell of belching chimneys and dark satanic mills!
Not quite:

Ironically, the 'dark, satanic mills' of which we sing, were in London.

Re: The Lemonfool my pic of the day thread
When I'm working I usually drive as I have a carload of stuff. This week, new customer, everything in a rucksack so was able to train into London, 2 stops on the Underground then a 10 minute walk. This is the Grand Union Canal, Paddington Arm at the moment. I've had worse commutes in my time, fewer nicer than walking along this towpath.
