This just seems like obvious common sense to me, the evidence is plain to see, I am mystified as to why media economists are mystified by our productivity gap with other developed countries.

There are exceptions: Sir James Dyson's Beeswax Farming runs an extremely lean and highly automated agri business in Linconshire, Gloucestershire and Oxfordshire. It's also a test-bed for farming automation and - given that unskilled temporary immigration may be further clamped down on - shows his foresight.

That is precisely what I was writing about on yet another Brexit thread the other day. If the CAP is removed the farmers will need to change the way they operate but that will in the long run be good for all of us. New Zealand reformed their farming support a few years ago and it is now prospering. All the cheap labour in the UK economy is doing the country no favours in the longer run.
