Re: Coming to London..
Oh yeah, that's the big rolled up thing.
I think the puffed up thing is poori.
I had mini puffed up things last year, stuffed with a filling, served balanced on a shot glass and in the glass was a spicy chilled 'soup'. That was fun.

No-one seems to give a fig about dates. How about Carry on Regardless?

OK, can we avoid Friday October 12th, please, as I am otherwise engaged that weekend.

I might be persuaded to join you all. It would be good to put faces to names!

Re: Coming to London..
I know, I know. I have had a bit of an issue with the VB club and have stopped doing the sessions. But rather irritatingly I agreed to referee a Sussex League match on that evening. Now if I could find a replacement referee?...AleisterCrowley wrote:It's a Friday. You're the reason we moved from Thursdays !!! Tsk....

C'mon then !
It's officially, in every way, Autumn...so a TLF Autumn Social is required.
Obviously Oct 5th is out - it's tomorrow.

Re: Coming to London..
Postscript - we went to Dishoom King's Cross while overnighting in the Metrop.
Pretty disappointing overall:
- Paneer Tikka (tasteless, tiny amount)
- House Black Daal (really not very nice; tasted like the free Chai they were giving us in the queue)
- Bhel (novel and quite nice)
- Pau Bhaji (veg curry very nice; buttered buns meh)
- Rotis (OK)
- Far Far (OK)
- Bowl of Greens (OK).
I often cook better stuff at home. Overall, 4/10 from me, 5/10 from my partner. Tough audience! Score lower than it might due to the sheer amount of @rsing around to get to the point of being able to eat, a wait that's not remotely warranted by the actual food.
NB with hindsight, probably didn't order that well.

Re: Coming to London..
Oh that's a shame, I love the daal but hate bhel!
I went to am excellent restaurant this week, sarf of the river, in Brixton. Called Booma. Craft beer and curry, small menu but everything was excellent. Thoroughly recommended. Person who recommended it to me said it was like Dishoom but better.
It sounds like Dishoom is a victim of its own success.
I'm not working in London any more, but if you agree a date I might come along or it might be a day I'm at my new company's head office.
