Mainly because it was the London Social ! There have been Fool (Motley, and I think Lemon) Socials in Scotland - mainly Edinburgh area?

Can I suggest a Fool Social in East Anglia? A good hike to the top of Shippea Hill, which would suit my current fitness levels. We could take a few photos - there's a handy local railway station.

My recollection of Jockland in summer is that a day without a decent breeze is not to be faced lightly. Your midges can easily get the better of an unwary Sassenach.

Damn, I wonder if I can dig up my old photo showing white columns of midges - looking like columns of smoke or steam - around Lake Midgewater[1]? Those (surprisingly) didn't bite (and I much enjoyed my evening swim there). Though getting ones face, hair and clothes full of them was annoying enough.

In an attempt to deflect slightly from Scottishland, here's some pics from my trip to Oz earlier this year.
These were uploaded to Google maps from my phone. What's interesting is that if you look at 'my contributions' in your google account you get a count of the number of views of each picture. Let's see who can guess the view count of each of these.

1. Sydney Opera House from the ferry

2. Coogee Beach

If I could recall my Imgur username, I could share an image of a Foolish Social item of clothing that is now all the rage.

Plus some black and white images of Scottishland from the Sixties. Including a double exposure of one of those ferry thingummies.

All it needs is a picture of the dress worn by Lorna to complete the picture.

Just in case you were wondering (you weren't),

1. Brilliantly composed photograph of world reknowned iconic building: 41 views
2. Amateurish snapshot of beach including wonky horizon: 10,665 views

As the Americans would say - go figure!

To be brilliantly composed the ferry should be about one third in from the right hand edge. It make it look as though it's going purposefully on it's way.

(I'm just jealous because I've not yet managed to get to Australia.)

I think you can just log in using your email address, and then ask imgur to jog your memory about your password? Thinks, I must go back to using mine some time.

Of course, that might not work so well if you're running twenty email addresses for forums etc?

OK, so that's where I left my disreputable past?

Neighbourhood menace, some time around 1968. The bike was already 15 years out of date old by that time. Note the bulb operated horn, which had no less than three notes. But don't ask me why one of my arms was shorter than the other.

OK - what was the bike? The tyres suggest it was 250cc or less. Too big for a Bantam. Lets guess at a BSA C12

Stranger than that. It was a 1953 Francis Barnett which had been sitting in my uncle's shed for twelve years. 197cc Villiers engine, and crucially, no rear suspension. It was quite quick - they also used those engines in scramblers and early go-karts - but it used to go through rear light bulbs at quite a rate. Rigid frames will do that sort of thing when you drive them through stone quarries.

Here's one that somebody else finished earlier. https://i.pinimg.com/474x/bd/dd/8f/bddd ... alcons.jpg . Mine finished up in a museum, courtesy of a mad vicar who restored it, and it's still on the DVLA database.

I don't think it slopes quite enough for water skiing.

Yes, I previously tried a few variations of a possible username, as they didn't recognise any of my attempts at an email address. Someone, somewhere, may be receiving emails from them asking if it was them that asked about a lost password. Will probably have fun using their webchat or whatever but might not bother.

Should have waited. There's a load of 737MAXs going cheap.

Where do you hide them? At Lossie there's sand, sand, and more sand - with vacant acres of it for every dog and human. And regular free aerial displays. But rocks - did you photoshop them?

Just back from Bulgaria, a week's hiking in the Pirin and Rila mountains, followed by some downtime at Sozopol on the Black Sea coast. Great country, stunning scenery, surly staff (mainly) but local beer at less than a quid for two litres in the supermarkets. What's not to like?

IIRC the P8 is a 737 (but not the MAX version)
You probably knew this, hence the comment :)
