Is this a baby robin, or something else? It was too big to be a wren I think.

I cheated and used Cortana. Looks like an immature Robin (if Helen in Wales is correct).

It's a Robin.

Although I didn't need it on this occasion, I can recommend the 'Merlin' phone app which is able to provided pretty accurate bird ID from either directly form captured phone photo's or photos taken from screens (camera, monitors etc.).

Most definitely a baby Robin.

Some that feed on my feeders (in the Midlands) are beginning to get the tinge of red to replace the speckled breast.
