Live Aid 1985.
I am not entirely sure I realised how important this was at the time.
It wasn't about music. Way beyond that. A shared medium of course - but a shared cause. Not long after the internet became available for the masses and the entire face of world politics began to change.
We were there, watching it all on our TV's.
Great music. Great intentions. Just one day but we were there.

From memory the Who cut out because of a dodgy sat link or something?
Queen were brilliant, Clapton (in Philly?) also.
Led Zep sound was awful, not helped by having two drummers, and Jimmy seemed to have a chorus/phaser stuck on.
