Re: Shut disgraceful online forums, says Sirius boss
I wonder if he advocated the shutting down of these forums when the share price was rising?

No, he didn't. As Alistair Osborne said elsewhere in TheTimes: "You cannot be Sirius!"

I cordially invite him to go forth and multiply, as I would with anyone who seeks to interfere with my freedom of speech.
In an age where one can run a discussion board on a piece of hardware the size of a sandwich and cost of a dinner for two, located literally anywhere around the world, how exactly is he proposing to shut posters like me up, technically?
I suggest that the most certain way to keep the internet off his back would be to concentrate on doing his day job of creating shareholder value rather better than he has up until now.

Re: Shut disgraceful online forums, says Sirius boss
It was indeed a stupid thing to say but OTOH I think it will be very sad if this ambitious and exciting project collapses. I am not an investor, though I did think about it at one point, but I should very much like to see it succeed. Couldn't some of those directors elsewhere who have given themselves huge amount of shareholders' money, which they can't possibly need, do the decent thing and cough up large dollops to keep this thing going till it becomes productive? Isn't it just s worthy of government grants as Boris's blonde friend? Is it really such a hopeless case?
