Feel I should know this by now but not clear if for ITs the investment return figures on HL are just price or if they include dividends.
I.e. on HL.co.uk F&C IT shows performance of 5.31% for 1 year. I think this is just price? And separately dividend yield of 1.5%.
I assume the total return 1 year is 6.81%, is this right? Thanks

I think you're right that the Hargreaves Lansdown page for FCIT shows a 1-year 'performance' of 5.31% which is purely on a 'share-price' basis -

I'm not sure if you're aware though, that there's a separate Hargreaves Lansdown 'comparison chart' area of the site, where you can see and compare 'Total Return' figures for a wide range of investments, and if we use that page to look at the FCIT total-return chart, we can see that it's showing nearer to your 6.81% figure -
Source - https://www.hl.co.uk/funds/fund-discounts,-prices--and--factsheets/search-results/f/fundsmith-equity-class-i-accumulation/charts
Please note that using the above default URL, you'll be presented with a chart for Fundsmith, but you can add and remove other investment charts using the option-areas underneath the chart...
Even better than that though, the Trustnet page for FCIT gives a specific 1-Year 'Cumulative Performance' return of 7.1%, which is shown to be a total-return figure 'with net income reinvested' -
Source - https://www.trustnet.com/factsheets/t/fj19/fc-investment-trust-plc
So hopefully those two additional data-sources at least give you an idea that your initial 5.31% yearly-performance figure was indeed just on a share-price basis, but I also hope it helps to know there's a couple of other sources where you can verify 'total-return' figures if you're wanting to, for these types of investments.
Cheers,

The performance figures on the AIC website are also Total Return. Here it shows FCIT at 7.1% for 1 year.
