PRIMORUS INVESTMENTS (PRIM) - My tip for 2021
A foretaste of my likely Tip for 2021 on my JDT thread on ADVFN. I feel sure it will fail to challenge my 2020 Tip – GGP. That has now multiplied 19x. I would just be happy for PRIM to double :
JDT thread:
https://uk.advfn.com/cmn/fbb/thread.php3?id=45437484
PRIMORUS Capital (PRIM) - MCap of £5.0m; CASH of £4.8m; portfolio of private co. investments at cost of c£5.00m. All that and one of the best BOWLS you'll ever see – an acknowledged bullish sign for those who know their Technical Analysis. Target 6.0p. versus current sp of 3.4p. Most BOWLS stated are not at all; whereas PRIM most certainly is - see link.
For a summary of their portfolio – see the 3rd link to their recent quarterly update.
PRIM made great strides under the stewardship of Alastair Clayton. He however had only a very small shareholding; and seemed to rely on an inappropriately high salary and stock options. The new CEO – Rupert Labrum – has a 17% holding & has already slashed costs whilst undertaking a Review for the future direction of PRIM.
This could get very interesting, as PRIM could be considered a reasonably sized cash shell. With the B/S as it is this can be considered a pretty secure investment with possibly very substantial upside.

Doesn't even look like the name of the company is right. PRIM looks like Primorus Investments to me. Following other's "tips" is prone to disaster, but if that's a reflection of the analysis I won't be looking further. Not for me.

I appreciate your expertise SKYSHIP and often look carefully into your suggestions. But with PRIM I’ve simply eyeballed Stockopedia’s stockreport and decided to keep my hands firmly in my pockets here. I’ve popped it on the watchlist though and will follow the progress.

Graham - interested in what Stockopedia have to say - are they up-to-date? Do they state the actual NAV & cash balance for instance? Do they comment upon the management changes?

dealtn - read yr offering above. You were right of course with the name Primorus Investments, not Primorus Capital. I had just got off the Oakley Capital site; and my fingers ran away with me when I typed the Header.
No reflection on PRIM of course; but I'm perfectly happy that you're not prepared to look beyond the marque and check what's under the bonnet.

It looks interesting to me. I guess it all depends on what they do with that cash. I presume they're going to invest it but what in is the question.

Moderator - many thanks for adjusting the title of the thread.
WickedLester - indeed, what will they do? In their 27th Nov'20 RNS they state:
"The Board has recently received several potential investment opportunities, which it is currently reviewing."
We will see what we will see. Attractive investment opportunities are one thing; an approach for something larger
to inject into the PRIM shell might also be a possibility...and that could get very interesting indeed.
All to play for; and very little downside with B/S cash almost equivalent to the MCap.

Where is all this cash, the last accounts to Dec 2019 have £45k of cash(see page 19)?
https://www.fundslibrary.co.uk/FundsLib ... QrsZOn&r=1
The interims to June 20 have cash at £676k
https://www.fundslibrary.co.uk/FundsLib ... Wis7fp&r=1
And have a typo on their balance sheet labelling 31 December 2019 as 31st December 2020, pretty careless especially for a quoted beast.

I haven't accessed SKYSHIP 's advfn links, which presumably reveal more, but have had a quick glance at more recent RNSs here:
https://www.londonstockexchange.com/stock/PRIM/primorus-investments-plc/analysis
The Quarterly Update dated 12 November 2020 includes Fully exited its investment in Greatland Gold PLC ("Greatland"), as announced on 4 November 2020, via a recently completed programme of sales of the remaining 20m Greatland shares for gross proceeds of approximately £4.6m to compliment the 6m Greatland share sale announced on 1 October 2020 which grossed £0.888m. Total gross proceeds have been received in the Quarter of circa £5.5m.
Plenty more to digest here:

Pink Dalek - absolutely = thnx for that
Charlottesquare - if you're going to invest, then you must do so with up-to-date information - otherwise you're a blind man stumbling in the dark; and no way will you match or even beat the Market.
That means you should research over at :
http://www.uk.advfn.com
ADVFN is the UK's largest and best PI website by every conceivable measure. Avail yourself...

I've availed myself for years, and very much prefer this one...
It's a decent site, but 'best PI website by every conceivable measure'?
I'm not quite sure about that....
Cheers,

Quite possibly the funniest thing I have read on this Board.
Can I assume you either don't have a dictionary, or the definition of some of the words in yours are "unusual"?

Hello
I for one didn’t follow your links to the other place & that’s why I ended up repeating the link to the relevant RNS direct from TLF.
If we are to discuss something on TLF the direct source assists, especially for those who do not wish to frequent that other place.

Re: PRIMORUS INVESTMENTS (PRIM) - My tip for 2021
I have used advfn for a long time (that may be over 20 years). I also use stockopedia which I find better for secondary information because it has more. Some information is available on AJ Bell to the public that is more than advfn.
I have looked at Primorus Investments last RNS and it does not give me somethinglike a balance sheet that would encourage me to invest. I am a bit of a numbers person rather than a narrative person although narrative does help.

Skyship,
Dealtn was good enough to comment on what you posted. Please do not respond by commenting on dealtn. Please play the ball, not the man. That sort of behaviour is frowned upon down in the wilderness of Polite Debates, and is absolutely not allowed up here in the realm of the civilised boards. [this is a mod comment, by me]
On some measures one could argue that TLF is a better PI website than ADVFN, as there are many measures. What are the financial measures that make PRIM a worthwhile investment please ? [this is a personal comment, based in part of my very sparing use of ADVFN].
regards, dspp

Sorry you have taken offence, but promoting advfn as the best PI website was genuinely laugh out loud funny to me.
"Every conceivable measure" is an extremely high bar to claim for anything don't you think?
Regardless, the thread should be about the idea, not the language.
