What did the female frog say to the amorous male frog?
" did you say Ribbit or rub it?"

I was looking at some old photos and have one of my home town at Easter (late March/early April) with snow on the ground - think it was 2013?

I've seen snow on my birthday - which is in June. Though not so recently.
Several years of my time in Italy had cold snaps with snow down to sea level around Rome at Easter.
Though Easter is often when we get the first really warm spell of the year. This year the warm snap covered the first half of the easter period, at least here and reportedly some parts of the country had it quite a lot warmer!

I well remember flying back from Corfu at Easter, some time in the late seventies. On departure, it was 37 celsius and getting hotter with every passing day. On arrival at Gatwick, there was snow on the ground. Bloody hell, the shock. Nobody on the plane was dressed appropriately for the onward journey. B-b-b-brass m-m-m-monkeys!

Re: The Lemonfool my pic of the day thread
Friday morning, lots of these in the park. This little one was completely unafraid, and came right up to me, showed no inclination to go anywhere else even when a small dog (on lead) yapped at it. Sadly what I thought should've been the best snap I messed up: my own shadow dominates.

Can anyone explain why in my browser (Chrome) Uncle Ebenezer's post doesn't show the photos, but just has some form of graphic next to the word `Image'?

It does it also in mine - but if I right click on the image and select "open image in new tab" - then I get the picture

That'll be Google's vendetta against HTTP.
Which, given the effect on cacheing and hence on traffic, is the online equivalent of banning commuter trains and putting every one of those commuters at the wheel of a car.

But at least the commuters are safe in their cars, rather than sitting in a train with bad guys running amok (to stretch an analogy).
(BTW are you aware your image links can lead to personal (though public) information being accessible?)

I'm looking forward to dinner out with friends, but that will be inside (albeit alcohol free).
I take it you can't nip outside, down a few drams and come back inside to nurse a fruit juice?
To be fair it's probably more salubrious than inside the Tollbooth

Well you can smoke outside I guess ? No idea what Scotland's rules are this week - is it no booze indoors but ok on the street or something?
Anyways, I much prefer drinking in a pub setting - much more sociable and civilised* than sitting at home drinking cans.
I finally managed to visit my local's beer garden last Saturday and had a very enjoyable couple of pints - until about 9.30 when it was so cold I came home..
It being a bright sunny day, I'd attempted to get a drink outside the station pub in Reading earlier- but after queueing for 15 mins I was told it was 'advance bookings only' - booking, to sit at a table outside a pub?! Madness, Madness!
Yours Boozily

Pubs, restaurants and cafes can serve everything indoors except alcohol. Alcohol can only be served to tables outdoors, and until 10pm.

Hmmm, is that barbed wire in the falling-off zone? The parachute's a nice touch, though.
