Marcus ups its rate
Marcus has increased its interest rate to 4%, including the bonus. Not great, but Marcus is genuinely instant access and is still good for a few thousand pounds.

TBH thats pretty low compared to other 1 year fixed accounts available ... I bagged a 6.06% one last night .
And id guess youd get close to 4.8% on an easy access too.

Yes, I too got 6.01% with Kent Reliance. Though I note that Marcus allow withdrawals, in emergencies, subject to 90 days loss of interest, whereas KR and others dont allow withdrawals at all.

Re: Marcus ups its rate
Nothing to get excited about, it's not competitive and doesn't make the top list.
Plenty of other, much better returns to be had.
I still have a Marcus account with £10 in it but my money was moved to better accounts long ago.

Nowhere near competitive.
Santander just pulled their 5.2% easy access account but there are others available around 5%.

Re: Marcus ups its rate
yes sadly Marcus has lost the plot iro being competitive
of course they might be adopting the big banks approach,,,and now relying on customer 'loyalty'....ie LAZINESS

And again - but don't forget that you need to log on and apply for the new bonus rate.

They've also increased the amount of the bonus from 0.34% to 0.49% so the total rate is now 4.75% - still not the best rate available though
