Re: Why I won't be Shopping in Iceland!
That is awesome - is it genuine?
MrsF is on hols, I'm off to the tip tomorrow. and I'm pretty sure there is an Iceland on the way back.
Although I might wish I'd called in on the way to the tip once I've cooked it.

I assumed that this was another photoshopped joke.
But it appears to be genuine!
What next? Vegan Haggis? Shepherds Pie with beef? Sugar-free Castor sugar?

I much prefer the M&S roast beef in a giant yorkie.
Sadly they discontinue them in the run up to xmas. No idea why.

By definition a Shepherds Pie has to contain minced lamb. The beef version is Cottage Pie, surely!
Then......meat-free Meatloaf?
Where do I sign up for the Space X trip to Mars? This planet is going cuckoo!

Indeed, but it's an Aussie recipe, so what do they know....?!

I once picked up the veggy MacSween by accident, not realising such a thing was even possible. It's not unpleasant in its own right - I like most things in that kind of line - but it's not really anything like haggis, it's got lots of random pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds.
Shepherd's pie is quite commonly made from beef in the colonies - presumably they would rather eat human flesh than a residence.

Not being anything like haggis might be seen as a plus point by many, I suspect.

Heghog crisp anyone?
Ok, you have to be a certain age to remember when you could buy a packet from the corner shop.
By the way the rumors of cannibalism in the USA are caused by a misunderstanding. A Dutch baby is something akin to a Yorkshire pudding.

I think if that became common knowledge in Yorkshire I suspect that at 11pm on a Friday night, as they leave their local pub, Yorkshire folk would mobilise.
It's called a Yorkshire pudding for a very good reason. We are poor folks, and this staple dietary addition allows us to put one more shovel of coal on t' fire.

I think the rot started when they invented alcohol-free beer.
Called "Kalibre" or something like that, wasn't it?

Urgh. Kaliber. The worst product the Guinness brewery ever produced. Its lack of alcohol might not have been an issue if it had tasted of something, but it didn't. 100% pose value, 0% enjoyment.
Nowadays, 0% Guinness is a different matter altogether.
Whatever will they think of next? A veggie toad in the hole with no proper toad, I expect?

- A Yorkshireman leaves the pub at 11pm incapable of most bodily functions including
- Control of his mouth
- Complete loss of sight, he's reliant on his sense of smell
- Bladder control
- He's capable as he's done it for decades of walking home blind. As he runs his mouth off the echoes provide all the clues he needs to navigate, including detours, the 17 mile walk home
- The invasion of foreign food outlets has been thoroughly welcomed in Yorkshire and long may it continue. As long as the door to Balti King is open there's every chance he will visit
- There's a reason why Yorkshire puddings are served with gravy and onions. Not only does it disguise the smell it adds the only flavour one will sense.
- Traditionally I believe Yorkshire puddings are served first before the main meal. I think this was to fill the stomach and reduce the amount of "expensive" food that was imbibed
PS ... Still not shopping at Iceland though
