Properly galvanised then.
(It was just an attempt to sneak Neil Young into a watering can thread...)

Great old things if a bit heavy, you can hardly get a galvanised can nowadays, just thin plastic crap.
We've had ours, a large Haws can, the whole of our married life. Not noticeably different to when we first got it and it wasn't new then - nicked it from Dad as we hadn't much money back then. Replaced the rose though - stood on it .

Re: How to remove superglue
The duct tape I used was a silver coloured one, maybe not the right type but all I had. The (clear) silicone seems to have worked but for good measure I have stuck some parcel tape over the duct tape inside. No signs of any leakage for half an hour, so fingers crossed. Worth the (not very much) effort and for someone who is not a member of the throw away society rather satisfying. Buying a new one would have taken much more time.
I do also have an old galvanised metal one but I find it very heavy. My plastic one is not thin or shiny and is a nice colour and shape so a good outcome.

So don't use a watering can at all - just Pump It Up. But only until you can feel it.

Thank you for the flowers, I threw them on the fire.
(and if DM's many cover versions are permitted, from the very excellent imho Kojak Variety)
I see your face in every flower, your eyes in stars above, it's just the thought of you, the very thought of you, my love.

Mel: I thought you were a moderator. Hasn't this gone slightly off topic?
For anyone remotely interested, the watering can is still not leaking.

Don't get us started on 'Can', who doesn't like a bit of Krautrock?
Disclosure: although not for a decade or more, I'm a previous contributor to the UK music press specialising in Elvis Costello. Those in the UK with that musical 'bent' may have read my words. I could regurgitate his lyrics with flowers, plants and other gardening references for hours.

Are you suggesting we Can The Can?

Re: How to remove superglue
When this post was initially replaced with "Will ant & roach spray kill flies?" I was very tempted to Rowche and Rumble my way onto that too...
