I haven't missed "hugging".
Monster?
Or someone who doesn't need any b*****d politician's permission to hug?

Re: Confession
If you haven't missed hugging, then what about shaking hands? I met up with my daughter's boyfriend recently, and we shook hands. It was quite a surprise really, because this kind of contact is probably illegal, but it made me realise how much I missed handshakes, and how important they are.

Do you know, I had the same queasy feeling as this latest media trend hit the rolling news networks. I actually miss handshakes more than hugging. And now, because we are being told how much we are all looking forward to hugging again (as if I ever did that much of it; not without a deal of protest anyway), I can see horrific visions of vague acquaintances staggering towards me, like something out of a zombie movie, with arm outstretched, huge wide slightly maniacal grins on their faces, uttering those dreaded words, "come on big boy, gimme some sugar..."
(Shudder)

Re: Confession
Hugging with female family members has been missed. Absence of hugging with males and non-familial females has been welcomed.

Re: Confession
Barristers do not shake hands when they meet; as 'gentlemen' they have no need to prove that they are not just about to draw their swords (which are worn on the left and thus gripped across the body with the right hand).
I assume this applies to to barristers hugging one another as well, but this is England and chaps don't go in for that sort of limp-wristed namby-pamby nonsense (not in public at any rate).
So no change for them.

Re: Confession
Barristers would never risk another barrister hugging them. It would be far too easy for one to knike the other in the back while hugging.
