I suspect a bump or pothole in the road could cause extreme discomfort in the nether regions

To be honest he's probably tucked a bit more defensively in that regard than normal

I have seen it, amazing how that aerodynamic position, (unsurprisingly known as the "superman") is so effective. As has been mentioned now banned.
I have not tried it but the even more impressive thing is that he is riding a fixed wheel bike and you might notice how difficult it is for him to resume pedalling at the end. I speak from experience when I say that once you take your feet off the pedals of a fixie it is very tricky to get them back on at any speed.
