Why, when you edit a post after posting, does it sometimes show the editing on the bottom line of the post and other times it (mostly) doesn't?
And I do mean on the same thread.

Could it be that you have a window of time following posting to correct typos etc. that are not counted as an edit?XFool wrote:Why, when you edit a post after posting, does it sometimes show the editing on the bottom line of the post and other times it (mostly) doesn't?

If someone else has posted a reply [Edit: after you first posted but before you edit], then the additional stuff will show up. If not, it isn't apparent.
Sometimes I might edit in time but might also include the fact I've Edited something in, such that someone who is in the midst of replying might see what's happened.

You are still in time to edit that reply, so you can see what happens.

I think that could explain it. Thanks.

Scrap that as Mods aren't time barred on when they can edit.
XFool could give it a go though (if in time).

In the Lemon Lounge, AFAIK, only Redsturgeon, Gryffon, and Itsallaguess moderate so the rest of us are treated the same way.PinkDalek wrote:Scrap that as Mods aren't time barred on when they can edit.

Chris is right - our time bar is only lifted on boards we actually moderate.
PD is also correct - if you edit within the time window but after someone has seen the post, the line shows up to indicate you have edited. If no-one has read it, it doesn't bother.
