OK - I'm going mad I know
Sorry not sure where this post belongs.
I thought I'd posted a post on the new Current Affairs & News Board
It's not there and I can't see it in my post feed.
Am I going nuts?
If it has been removed can someone advise why please - will help me in the future - thank you
Failing which I'll call myself an ambulance - if I can remember the three digit single number that I need to dial
AiY

On Thursday it was said it would appear in the "next few days". Maybe working days?

There were no posts on it when I looked last night or this morning. Since then there have been no posts deleted on that board. I suspect you didn't actually post it. When did you intent to post it i.e. which day and roughly what time?

Well that's a polite way of confirming I am losing the plot
Thank you for checking - I'll add my little post tonight
Take care

Re: OK - I'm going mad I know
...Well it's not just you.
While I have made no attempt to post on the new board (relief all round!) I did look at it. When I originally looked there were no posts.
I did read the header, Current Affairs & News - Board Guidelines, which contains this sentence:
"This board is visible to all registered and non-registered users, so will be tightly moderated."
Yet, when today I tried to merely have a look at the posts on the board I was greeted with the message:
"You must be a registered member and logged in to view the replies in this topic."
I'm not saying I won't be able to see what is on the board, just pointing out an apparent contradiction.

I imagine some setting or other in the phpBB software is wrong (maybe a left-over from PD). I'll pass this on to he who can fix it.

Well yes, apart from just a few odd bits and bobs of rust-coloured metal in a small heap along with a plunger, and one or two sad-looking circular bulkhead lamps.Mike4 wrote:Are you trying to tell us Pink Dalek has met a sad demise, and all that remains of him is a bit of faulty code?!

Hey they really were scary things when we were children, them Daleks!
Well they were until my Dad pointed out we just needed to run upstairs to our bedrooms to escape them. As Daleks can't climb stairs.

Ah but this was all long before 1988, when they first learned to levitate up staircases....

Exactly the same AFAICS. That is, you need to be logged in to even read posts on it. Perhaps change the descriptive text?

Oops, sorry, I hadn't realised he'd posted the question himself. As the middleman I will now bow out. C.AsleepInYorkshire wrote:I thought I'd answered Stooz's question.

I'm not saying I won't be able to see what is on the board, just pointing out an apparent contradiction.
Since reality and the board guidelines don't match, can I suggest a sentence in the board guidelines be edited to align with reality?
Current Affairs & News - Board Guidelines
Further Guidance
Any discussion that gets mired in entrenched positions is likely to be locked. This board is visible to all registered and non-registered users, so will be tightly moderated. Any post that attacks another person (as opposed to their opinion or words) will be deleted or edited.
That the text: "This board is visible to all registered and non-registered users, so will be tightly moderated." - be changed to read:
"This board will be tightly moderated."
