Some companies just seem to power on. Promoted to the FT100 last year and now ranked at no 81. The results look goood to me and a 10% increase in the dividend is welcome, even though it is total return I chase these days. The market seems to approve, with the share price up 7% as I write. Now my largest single holding - somewhat to my astonishment.
I was surprised to see that there was no existing thread on this company. People looking for financials other than the usual high yielding stocks (ICP gives 2.4%) might like to investigate.

Me too. I guess I'm now a genuine long term investor in this company. I'd have to look up the date of my original investment, but presumably back in the 1990s. One way or another it has been quite a wild ride at times. It is also now my largest single holding, by some way. I guess I don't do "balanced".
Must confess I haven't been to an AGM for years, not since I was the only private investor present!

An interesting breakdown of its business - with a lot of detail in the 'information pack' referred to.
In terms of 5yr TR (just one of the metrics I use) this is my most successful single equity - just pipping SPX.
Perhaps there is more than one way of riding the current PE vogue. Providing finance to private companies rather than direct investment.

They look good to me. The market seems to think so too - SP up by over 5%.
A 10% increase in the dividend too.
One of my remaining HYP shares. Originally bought at a yield of 6.98%. Now 2.33%!
