Re: Apt alliteration's artful aid
Well done to those who got it.
My own version was, of course, very similar - A corrupt, cropped and crippled cat called Krypton crept in a crypt and crapped.
Though dropping the `cropped' gives it a better metre: A corrupt, crippled cat called Krypton crept in a crypt and crapped.
All good fun!

Or :
Krypton the cropped and crippled cat, crept into a corrupted crypt and crapped.
Krypton the cropped and crippled cat, crept into a corrupted crypt and crapped.

Re: Apt alliteration's artful aid
"Cropped" could refer to the tail.
How about,
Krypton, the corrupt, crippled, concisely coiffured kitty, covertly crept into the crypt and crapped.

Hmm... How about "Ye corrupt, crippled cat yclept Krypton crept in yon crypt and crapped" (an alliteration scheme close to the Welsh 'cynghanedd draws')

Or take a leaf from Latin with the ablative absolute form ...
Creeping crypt-wards, corrupt cropped crippled Krypton crapped
Crazy!

Very good - and it avoids needing any definite or indefinite articles

I was always taught that the ablative absolute format was, for example:
"The cat, having crept into the crypt, etc..."
Maybe my Latin master was old-fashioned. I don't have a copy of Kennedy's "A shorter Latin Primer" to hand.

P.S. The title of mine had been amended by a former user to "A Shortbread Eating Primer".

Re: Apt alliteration's artful aid
For some unaccountable reason, flogging by my Latin master didn't improve my memory, but my distant recollection is that in the ablative absolute, the real or implied subject (noun) that precedes the participle must not be the same person or thing as is the subject of the following clause.
if I am right, the 'Creeping crypt-wards, corrupt cropped crippled Krypton crapped' is not strictly ablative absolute since when the implied words are added, its would read:
"With Krypton creeping crypt-wards, corrupt cropped crippled Krypton crapped" that would break the rule.
But servodude's post is nevertheless good alliterative one!

Mea culpa, that's true!
Dunno what I was thinking
- it's just "starting a sentence with an adverbial clause"

A Jedi poet might:
"Krypton,crept on,crypt in, crapped on"
