I noticed today that the count of my total number of TLF posts has dropped significantly. By over 1.000 as far as I can tell.
I have no idea which posts those are, and they could well be old and stale. But is there an explanation for this? Is it intended, say, as periodic maintenance and housekeeping?
I am not that bothered - unless it is only my posts
Just curious.

A one year life expectancy for neglected CAN posts has been implemented apparently. It will probably be that. C.Lootman wrote:I noticed today that the count of my total number of TLF posts has dropped significantly. By over 1.000 as far as I can tell.

? There are posts there that were last active in March 2021. viewforum.php?f=99&start=1050
And, indeed, the very first of those threads is locked by a mod as OT for "the new CAN board", viewtopic.php?p=391309#p391309, so it looks like threads back to the inception of CAN are still there.

Yes I don't quite understand it myself. My colleague Chas has put in a request for a more formal public explanation, which will doubtless be forthcoming.mc2fool wrote:csearle wrote:A one year life expectancy for neglected CAN posts has been implemented apparently. It will probably be that. C.

PS If you view a post it might reset (I think).

Re: Have posts been culled or archived?
Hi all.
I have removed the old posts from old polite discussion group which were still in the database, and we were doing some spring cleaning.
they were still counting towards your post count when the forum was locked.
Sorry.
