In return the investments have perceived better than others with lower fees

Well, marketing matters. It sounds like a place for poshos with too much money and not enough sense, Tim Nice-But-Dim, etc. Like Coutts, the bank that's too posh to permit jumped-up proles like Farridge.

Farridge, of course, is known to be an effective wind-up for the honourable candidate for Sarf Fannet (failed). It drives him crazy, apparently.
In our house, the farridge is where we keep the milk.
